Hello there! I’m William Pembroke.

Let me guess—you want your teenager to eat something other than instant noodles, but the thought of them near a hot stove or a sharp knife keeps you up at night.

I get it. And honestly? That is exactly why SD Life Go exists.

My Journey to the Kitchen Classroom

For over 15 years, I have dedicated my career to bridging the gap between nutritional science and practical, everyday cooking. I hold a Master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences and a Postgraduate Certification in Culinary Arts Education but my real education didn’t come from textbooks. It came from standing in home kitchens, teaching hundreds of reluctant tweens and nervous parents that cooking isn’t a chore; it is a superpower.

Before founding SD Life Go, I spent a decade as a secondary school Family & Consumer Sciences educator and a youth culinary program director. I have worked alongside pediatric nutritionists, child psychologists, and professional chefs to decode one simple truth: Teens don’t need gourmet; they need confidence.

Why the “5-Step” Method?

In my years of experience, I realized that the biggest barrier for young cooks isn’t a lack of interest—it is information overload.

Cookbooks with 20 ingredients and paragraphs of instructions overwhelm developing brains. So, I distilled everything down to our core philosophy: 5-Step Meals.

These are recipes engineered for success:

  • 5 Clear Steps (no culinary jargon).
  • 5 Hero Ingredients (minimal prep, maximum flavor).
  • Safety First (integrated knife safety and stovetop basics woven into every single guide).

My mission at sdlifego.com is to transform your kitchen from a stress-zone into a safe, fun, and educational playground. Whether it’s a quick after-school snack or a “Wow!” dinner for the family, I promise every recipe is tested, tasted, and tween-approved.

Let’s Build Confidence, One Spoonful at a Time

I believe that teaching a teen to cook is the greatest gift you can give them it teaches math, science, patience, and independence, all while keeping them nourished.

I don’t just write recipes; I provide the roadmap to raise capable, self-sufficient young adults. My digital guides, video courses, and weekly posts are crafted with the same meticulous care I used in my classrooms.

Have a question about knife safety? Wondering if a recipe is truly “foolproof”?

I personally read every email. Drop me a line at william@sdlifego.com I would love to hear where your teen is on their cooking journey.

Let’s get cooking!

Warmly,
William Pembroke
